“As part of our access to market initiatives, we present The Folklore Connect at Lagos Fashion Week, an innovative Spring/Summer Digital Buyer’s Preview. Launching today, October 11th and running through the 14th, The Folklore Connect at Lagos Fashion Week will provide retailers with a first-look experience at collections ahead of Lagos Fashion Week, allowing them to pre-order from brands: Orange Culture, Gozel Green, Abiola Olusola, Oríré, Cute-Saint, Onalaja, Kadiju, Kiko Romeo & Fia Factory.
Hosted via The Folklore Connect’s tech-driven B2B platform, retailers can apply to join the event, browse the participating brands mentioned above and select a preferred time slot for a virtual appointment to meet the designers and view the Spring/Summer 2023 collections.
The partnership with Folklore aims to ensure that Africa’s emerging and established fashion brands are included in the international market season, which typically closes before collections officially launch during Lagos Fashion Week at the end of October. The digital event will facilitate wholesale orders from The Folklore’s global retail partners, enhancing the company’s mission to empower diverse brands from Africa and other global markets by using modern software and technology.
Through this partnership, Lagos Fashion Week reiterates its commitment to developing a platform for African creatives to showcase their creativity and leverage a globalized commercial landscape with an approach that heralds collaboration, grassroots community impact and co-creation which is the bedrock for building a sustainable fashion future.
Lagos Fashion Week continues to lead the way with initiatives that support, strengthen and develop the fashion industry. Beyond the runway, the annual event provides a physical platform that’s gradually repositioning fashion as a useful tool for commerce and creativity in Africa”.
