Jane Michael makes a bold style statement with a new collection tagged ‘One Man Army’.
Jane Michael’s collection was inspired by her struggles in the industry and the strength she had to pull from herself to succeed. The looks from the collection are heavily infused with military-inspired style with colours ranging from army green to blood red to navy blue and khaki with a splash of white.
The designs are strong with short sleeve body-fit blazers and sheer trousers with side leather layering, sleek silhouettes and African-infused embellished shoulders which gives a nod to the ’80s. The collection is an eclectic line of edgy chic meets androgynous, with a green jumpsuit specifically designed for both sexes.
On the collection, Jane Michael Ekanem said, “This collection is very dear to my heart. Everything you see came from within and a feeling that just had to be expressed.”
The brand created two years ago is owned by Jane Michael Ekanem who doubles as the creative director. Prior to launching the label, Jane Michael Ekanem had been a stylist, a job she still does, for 10 years and has worked with A-list African celebrities including Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Chidinma, Bonang Matheba and many more.
