A Skin by Zaron Review? Let’s explore this fast-rising skincare brand by Zaron Cosmetics together!

Skin by Zaron is definitely shaping up to be my go-to skincare brand and I’ll let you in on why in a moment. Skin by Zaron is the skincare brand of Zaron Cosmetics; Africa’s fastest-growing makeup brand for women of colour. The cosmetics brand unveiled a thorough line of well-researched products (according to what I see) and it’s exciting.

The range currently carries different skincare products, in fact, they released a new set recently (I am yet to try the new range that includes a shower gel! I cannot wait for that one).

It’s Elemdee here… So far, I have tried these ones and I’ll be sharing my honest view of these products from their early drop in no particular order:

Vitamin C Brightening/Moisturizing Body Lotion

This is by far my best lotion in recent times. I think it deserves a standalone review! It’s lightweight and non-comedogenic (you can feel it). Deeply moisturizing without any overbearing fragrance so it’s perfect. A good ‘complexion maintainer’ (if there’s a word like that). I like the feel and after months of using this, I know it’s definitely one to keep on my beauty shelf. I use this after showering day and night.

Major ingredients include ascorbic acid (Vit. C – obviously), mother of pearl extracts, Niacinamide, Alpha Arbutin, Collagen, and Kojic Acid amongst others. These are powerful ingredients to keep skin youthful, brighter and intensely hydrated. And it delivers on those in my opinion.

Moisturizing Body Lotion (Skin Glow Therapy)

This lightweight formula is everything a lotion should be. Non-drying/not dry, intensely moisturizing without being greasy. You can see how your skin has a healthy look to it that’s not overbearing or oily, just moisturised enough (to lock in hydration without being oily). That’s usually me but with this formula, I don’t have to layer with oil and I won’t be ashy! That is major. I’m currently months have gone (several bottles later!) with this product and I beat myself up for not using this sooner.

Collagen is one of the active ingredients to tackle the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also has Vitamin E, which helps to protect the skin from sun damage.

Another active ingredient in this is Alpha Aburtin, a natural skin brightener that fades dark spots and helps keep the skin tone even. It also contains Kojic acid, which helps to remove hyperpigmentation amongst other ingredients.

Herbal & Oil Micellar Cleansing Water

That’s probably the most comforting makeup, grit etc remover I have used in recent times. The fragrance first is soothing and cooling. Apart from doing a great job at lifting off oil, makeup, etc from your face without drying up your skin, the fragrance is just the right amount. It’s like spa time for me when I use it.

Active ingredients include Aloe Vera, which is great for the skin, and Castor Oil.

Day Cream with Sun Protection

This got a facelift and I desperately need to get onboard! I used the one from the first drop in a ‘pot bottle’. It’s a day cream and sunscreen in one! It’s perfect because it does a 2-in-1 job and stays lightweight. Did something different at a point with it. I reapplied it over my makeup one time as you should your sunscreen. I simply dabbed on my makeup using Nayamka’s style with a beauty blender for more sun protection during the day!

Active ingredients include hyaluronic Acid, for healthy plump and firmer skin. Collagen to keep the skin youthful, Aloe Vera extracts, an antioxidant, amongst others.

Acne Control Glow Face Wash

This is the perfect go-to anti-acne cleanser, formulated with Salicylic acid, Tea tree oil, Citric acid, Niacinamide, and Aloe Vera Extract to deeply cleanse and remove acne-causing dirt and impurities without disrupting the skin’s protective barrier. It is gentle, deep cleansing and won’t dry out your skin. It’s a gentle wash suitable enough to be used daily.

Definitely a favourite of mine.

Exfoliating & Hydrating Glow Face Wash

I’m not crazy about this formulation tbh. There’s something in there that doesn’t exactly do anything for my face. It washes without drying your skin yes. The fragrance isn’t overbearing and the granules in the formulation are mild but something there doesn’t quite do it for my face. BUT… I tried it once on my bikini area and pits and it’s perfect to exfoliate plus tackled the discolouration/hyperpigmentation in that area!!! So I use this for just those areas and I love the results!

It has Glycolic Acid, Citric Acid, Aloe Vera Extracts as well as other ingredients.

Skin Regenerating Hydrating Serum.

That is the truth! An absolutely absolutely favourite of mine. It’s intensely nourishing and not in any way too much. The skin instantly absorbs it and stays plump and hydrated immediately you can feel it. It’s best before you start with makeup and it’s even better on a lazy Saturday when you just want to chill with your face bare but moisturised. It’s the best product of all time for me!

It contains glycerin and other anti-oxidants I believe.

Ultimate Glow/Brightening Toner

This product absolutely didn’t work for me at all. It felt ‘rough’ against my skin in ways I can’t describe. Continuous use broke me out terribly and I had to stop using it. I tried it again after a few weeks and it was the same so I discontinued it and haven’t touched it since then!

I have a few more serums to try from the new drop and will surely come back with reviews after months of continuous use. One thing I applaud though is the research I know has gone into creating skin by Zaron. The products speak for the work that has gone into them.

I’m excited about more Zaron Cosmetics products, and even more so for this Nigerian-owned brand producing high-quality, world-class products!
