Aso -pronounced ASO (ah-shaw) recently released their debut SS23 collection, “Emergence-the birth into who you were always meant to be”.
Aanuoluwa Ajide-Daniels, the creative designer behind the new Nigeria-based clothing brand, is defying convention and “designing outside the box.”
The brand shares, “Identity, in its entirety, is such a big part of our lives, the sheer power of knowing who you are is the emergence into being who you are in its entirety“.
“THE EMERGENCE explores the difficulties of embracing one’s true identity as an average Nigerian child. “I had always known who I was, I was different, and it wasn’t the kind of difference that my father would speak proudly of when he spoke about me. I at an early age, had to accept it was going to be difficult living as me Ajide.”
“The debut collection THE EMERGENCE explores how identity helps to put structure in the human existence, this is shown through the strong shoulder cuts and silhouettes in the 25-androgynous look collection. The collection also makes use of colours and glistening stones to emphasize how colourful and glamorous things can get when we embrace every part of one self.”
