Africa Creative Market 2022 is here.
The Africa Creative Market (ACM), an all-inclusive event for talents and stakeholders in Africa’s creative industry, has been conceived to foster the exchange of value, ideas, creativity, and perceptions between Africa’s creative sector and that of the world. Primarily, ACM 2022 seeks to converge Africa’s creatives in one sitting, providing endless opportunities for them to upgrade their skills and industry knowledge base, as well as have access to necessary funding.
ACM brings major stakeholders in the African and International Creative Industries together to facilitate value exchange between Africa’s creative sector and the world. ACM’s mission is to empower creatives to scale, by providing the blueprint for establishing commercially viable and sustainable business models. Achieving a continuum of excellence in Africa’s creative minds is not debatable, but it is an expectation that must be attained, and we will do so collectively.

The inaugural Africa Creative Market 2022 will be held in Lagos and will be implemented by Ascend Studios Foundation—an organization with a mandate to empower women and youths in Africa. The event will also host the Women in Film and Television International (WIFTI) Summit, as WIFT members from all over the world celebrate the organization’s 25th anniversary. Masterclasses, panel discussions, and several networking sessions will also be held during the Summit as themes on film and TV will be discussed.
Furthermore, ACM has partnered with Paramount Africa to design and implement the music program, where insights into the music industry will be discussed. The dance sessions will be curated and led by Kaffy Shafau—a Nigerian dance artist who pioneered the development of dance as a business in Africa 20 years ago. The focus on dance will cover structures within the creative industry (Including film, fashion, and music); the goal will be to build the dance industry by creating sustainable structures and training break-out dance artists.
The YD Company will curate and manage the fashion program—the Fashion Evo, which will include panel sessions, masterclasses, exhibitions, fashion presentations, and fashion shows. Masterclasses and panel sessions will be hosted by seasoned professionals, such as fashion manufacturers, exporters, fashion photographers, make-up experts, hair stylists, concession store owners, and buyers. The focus on fashion will cover structures within the creative industry (including film, dance, and music) and the goal will be to build the fashion industry by creating sustainable structures and training outstanding fashion designers.
The Africa Creative Market (ACM) is on a mission to empower African creatives globally, thereby setting them up to scale through the establishment of sustainable structures needed to enhance economic prosperity. ACM is also out to support the development of local amateurs and experienced talents through job creation, co-production, collaboration, and co-investment.
