Headies 2021: These are our top looks from the invite-only virtual event

headies 2021

Headies 2021 saw celebrities turn up in well-curated looks!

Headies 2021 awards; the 14th edition held on Sunday 21st February 2021 at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos. The event had no live audience and adhered strictly to covid-19 protocols. It was an invite-only event with venues divided into four places to ensure social distancing.

Headies 2021

The hosts for the virtual event were TV star Nancy Isime and comedian Bovi who kept guests entertained.

The celebrities in attendance brought their fashion game as there were refreshing looks pictured all over Instagram. We chose these ones because they caught our attention and in that order.

Lilian Afegbai in Trish O Couture

This look stood out on Lilian. Our figure was especially flawless in the flattering piece that accentuated her torso. The finely draped details over the sheer lace detailed top was especially a delight. It was a finely tailored look. Almost the best look we’ve seen on the actress in a while.

Alexandra Asogwa in Sevon Dejana

This was a winning detailed power look. Imagine a power suit with details that come together perfectly. This look was conceptualized by her stylist Mimi Yina (Medlin Boss)who worked closely with the designer; from getting the fabric down to the delicate placements on the look. It was a winner for us.

Annie Idibia in Trish O Couture

Annie Idibia chose a bronzy figure-enhancing look from Trish O Couture. The simple look accentuated her curves and brought just enough heat with the embellishment. We liked that everything else; her hair, her makeup (down to her glowing legs were) came well together/ minimal so the dress took ‘centre stage’.

Kim Oprah in Hertunba

Seeing someone rock this look by Hertunba brought it to life. The suit features a floral patterned jacket over a mismatched slim fit pant. Kim Oprah brought the look alive. See the full lookbook for the collection here.

Wathoni Anyani in Colletecreations

This was a flattering look for the reality star. Simple with glittering embellishment and a slightly exaggerated cowl, the look worked for Wathoni.

Erica Nlewedim

The reality star got an honourable mention because sometimes a ball gown is safe and really simple enough to grace the red carpet. Not exactly excited about the custom drawing and detailing on the dress but the details on her hair and makeup were enough to catch attention.
